Track your relationship with agents and other people sending you referrals by creating a Partner record for them in Salesforce. This article will show you how to create both a Private and Public Partner. Please refer to Public vs. Private Partner Model if you are unfamiliar with the difference between the two.

Create a New Partner!
Utilize the "Add New Partner" button located in the lower left-hand corner on any Salesforce page you visit, to create a new partner record! Follow the steps below.
1) Clicking on the Add New Partner button opens a pop-up for quick access to creating a Partner! Select the appropriate LO as the Primary Owner.
Tip! Click on the icon in the upper right-hand corner to pop out the tab into a new window.
2) Complete the search for an already existing Public Partner. If you cannot find a match, clear the Search field, and click Next.
Note: If there is an existing Public Partner record with the correct information, select it to avoid Public Partner duplicates.
3) Search for a Business Account to locate any already existing Companies. Select the Company, and select Next.
If no results populate, clear the Search field, and check "The company does not exist" box. Fill in the Company contact information fields that populate below, and select Next.
4) Complete the Agent Information to create both a Public and Private Partner. Then select Next to save!
5) The site directs you to the new Private Partner Record you just created.

Create a Private Partner from the New Public Partner
Once the Public Partner has successfully saved, you are taken back to the prior screen to search for an Existing Public Partner. Proceed with these steps to create your Private Partner from the Public Partner Contact that you just created.
6) Search for your self to add yourself as the Primary Owner of the Private Partner. All search for and add an Team Members and click Next.
7) Confirm the details for the Private Partner are accurate and click Next when finished.
8) Congratulations! You have created a new Private Partner!
Create a New Private Partner using an Existing Public Partner
1) Search for the already existing Public Partner (labeled as a "Partner"). Click into the Contact.
2) "Public Partner Record" displays across the top, and you can select to Create Private Partner from this already existing Contact Record.
3) Fill in the prompts that populate, along with the Contact Information of the new Private Partner.
Primary Owner is required for who this Private Partner belongs to. Once selected, click Next.
4) Now fill out the required Private Partner information (you can edit this information later). Click Next.
5) Success! Your Private Partner has been created from an existing Public Partner!
